Questions:

1.What is your Sister/Guard Name?

Mary Kris Miss Trie

2. How long have you been in the N. Alabama area?

Most of my life.

3.When did you first become aware of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence?

At a diverse gathering of like minded individuals in the rolling and verdant hills of Tennessee.

4.What drew you to the Rocket City Sisters?

Aioli and her promise of some special sauce... I'd known of the Sisters for many years and wanted to plug in but geographically it wasn't possible for me to be involved until RCS started.

5. What are some other groups you've worked with? These can be not-for-profits, or any group you've enjoyed working with.

The Dixie Derby Girls as a skating and non-skating official and the WFTDA (Women's Flat Track Derby Association). Unlike a lot of sporting orgs, these organizations are all volunteer and founded on democratic principals. They are run by the athletes and volunteers themselves. There are no owners.

6. What are some of your hobbies?

Roller derby, glamping, bingo, patronizing drag shows that might make some queens squeamish.

7.What made you choose your Sister/Guard name?

It's a combination of several names I've used throughout my life. I might just add to it if I ever earn a new name.

8. What's something fun you would like to share about yourself?

I am an open/closed/open/closed/open book. Hope you're a fast reader.

9. Are you a performer or athlete? If so tell us a little about it.

I tried to play roller derby for 1 season and eventually figured out I don't like getting hit or hitting others. The switch to officiating was a perfect fit for me because I could stay involved and keep skating with less physical damage.

10. What's something you hope to achieve as a Sister/Guard?

I'm always after just one person. If I only help one person not commit suicide or help one person have safer sex or assist one person in finding social resources they need or give one person a helping hand; then all the work is worth it. Every day in the deep South is like swimming against a rip tide. Let's make some colorful floaties for our neighbors!

11. Lastly, please select a quote that you feel represents you. (nothing too long please)

"Irreverence is the champion of liberty." - Mark Twain
